Middle School (Grades 6–10): Developing Skills, Identity, and Global Awareness (MYP)
Middle school is a critical time — students are growing in every way: intellectually, emotionally, socially, and morally. That’s why the Middle Years Programme (MYP) at AGS is about more than academics. It’s about shaping identity, building resilience, and helping learners discover how their knowledge applies to the real world.
The IB MYP for Grades 6–10 builds on the PYP foundation, offering more academic challenge while still prioritizing student agency and well-being. It is designed to prepare students for the IB Diploma or Career-related Programme— and for life as responsible global citizens.
The curriculum spans across:
- Language and Literature
- Mathematics
- Integrated Sciences
- Individuals and Societies
- Visual Arts and Design
- Physical & Health Education
- Language Acquisition (Arabic, French, or Spanish)
- Digital Design & Innovation
Every MYP student also completes a Personal Project in Grade 10 — a long-term independent project that reflects their interests, values, and learning journey. It’s a rite of passage that strengthens research, time management, and self-expression.
Beyond the classroom, students engage in:
- Community service and leadership opportunities
- Digital citizenship and media literacy
- Sports, creative clubs, and innovation competitions
They learn to challenge assumptions, appreciate diversity, and think globally — all while growing into confident young adults ready to take on the world.
