Primary School (Grades 1–5): Building Knowledge Through Inquiry, Exploration, and Connection (PYP)

As your child enters our Primary Years Programme (PYP), their natural curiosity begins to blossom into deeper thinking. These years are all about asking questions, making sense of the world, and discovering the joy of learning across different subjects and themes.

The PYP framework is an IB curriculum designed for children aged 6 to 11, and at AGS, we deliver it through an engaging, student-centered approach that empowers young learners to become confident inquirers and compassionate individuals.

Our core subjects include:

  • English Language & Literature
  • Mathematics with conceptual understanding
  • Science through investigation and experimentation
  • Social Studies with local and global perspectives
  • Visual & Performing Arts
  • ICT, Coding, and Digital Literacy
  • Arabic Language & UAE Culture
  • Physical Education & Well-being

But beyond academic content, our PYP classes explore powerful themes like How the World Works, Who We Are, and How We Organize Ourselves — allowing students to draw connections between what they learn and what’s happening in the world around them.

Every child is encouraged to:

  • Think critically and independently
  • Collaborate with peers
  • Take responsibility for their learning
  • Respect diverse viewpoints
  • Reflect on their progress

AGS also provides:

  • SAT and IELTS preparation
  • College application support
  • Career planning workshops
  • Internships and real-world learning experiences

All AGS students graduate with a strong academic foundation, global perspective, and the confidence to pursue future success.
