Services Provided

The School Clinic provides a range of services, including but not limited to:

First Aid and Emergency Care

Our team manages minor injuries, such as cuts, bruises, sprains, and mild allergic reactions. In case of emergencies, the clinic acts swiftly according to established protocols to stabilize the student and contact emergency services and the family if necessary.

Health Monitoring
  • Vision and hearing tests
  • Height and weight monitoring
  • Periodic health assessments in collaboration with public health guidelines

These screenings help us identify any concerns early and refer families to the appropriate health services

Management of Chronic Conditions

We provide day-to-day support for students with chronic medical conditions such as:

  • Asthma
  • Diabetes
  • Epilepsy
  • Allergies

Individual Health Care Plans (IHCPs) are developed for these students in consultation with their families and healthcare providers. We monitor symptoms, administer prescribed medication, and offer education to help students manage their conditions with confidence.

Medication Administration

The clinic safely administers medications during school hours, following strict protocols and with proper authorization from parents and physicians. We ensure proper documentation and secure storage of all medications.

Health Education and Promotion

We believe that education is the foundation of lifelong wellness. The clinic supports health-related events and awareness campaigns throughout the school year, such as:

  • Healthy Eating and Nutrition Week
  • Mental Health Awareness Days
  • Hygiene and Handwashing Campaigns
  • First Aid Awareness Programs

These initiatives are often integrated into the school’s curriculum and activities to build student knowledge and responsibility toward their own health.

Illness Management and Prevention

The clinic plays an essential role in identifying and managing infectious illnesses within the school. We follow best practices in infection control, and when needed, coordinate with local health authorities to ensure a safe environment for all.

Students who become ill during the school day are assessed and either cared for in the clinic or, when necessary, sent home for further rest and recovery. Parents are promptly contacted in all such cases.

Confidentiality and Communication

All medical information is treated with the utmost confidentiality. We maintain secure records and communicate with families in a professional and timely manner. Our team works collaboratively with teachers and school counselors when health issues may impact a student’s performance or well-being in the classroom.

Supporting Mental and Emotional Well-Being

Recognizing that health is not only physical, our clinic also supports students experiencing stress, anxiety, or emotional difficulties. We provide a calm, confidential space where students can come to talk or rest when overwhelmed. Where appropriate, referrals may be made to the school counselor or external specialists.

Emergency Preparedness

The School Clinic is an integral part of our Emergency Response Plan. The medical team is trained to handle a wide range of urgent situations, including:

  • Asthma attacks
  • Anaphylaxis
  • Seizures
  • Head injuries
  • Heat exhaustion or dehydration

Emergency medications such as EpiPens and inhalers are stored in clearly marked, easily accessible areas, and staff are trained in their use.

Regular emergency drills, including first aid response, are conducted in coordination with the school’s safety team.

Collaboration with Parents and Guardians

We believe in a strong partnership with parents and guardians. Our clinic team:

  • Communicates any health concerns promptly
  • Sends home medical notes and updates when necessary
  • Encourages open dialogue about your child’s physical and emotional health
  • Offers support and guidance for follow-up care when needed
Admission and Health Requirements

As part of the school’s admission process, all students are required to submit:

  • A completed health questionnaire
  • Up-to-date immunization records
  • Details of any allergies or chronic conditions
  • Authorization for medication administration (if applicable)

This information helps us provide personalized and effective care from day one.
